How to apply

School Tours/ Visits

If you are interested in your child attending our school, either as a new starter in Reception or as an in year transfer, our Headteacher would love to invite you to come and visit the school to have a look around. Just email or call the office and we will arrange a convenient time with you.

The Admissions Process

Admissions to Tower Hill Primary School are handled by Oxfordshire County Council.

Parents of children born between September 1, 2021, and August 31, 2022 need to apply for a Reception year place for September 2026.

Parents and carers should list three schools, putting their favourite at number one.

It is advised that a child’s catchment school is among the three schools chosen by parents and carers, but this is not a requirement.

Most applications are made online. You can do it online here:

Transfers From Other Schools

In term transfers are handled by Oxfordshire County Council and you need to apply to them to move your child to Tower Hill School. Once they have confirmed a place is available, there are enrolment forms that you will need to fill in. These are available from the school office. You would be very welcome to request a tour round our school and to meet our headteacher - do just get in touch. The Oxfordshire County Council website explains how the transfer process works:

Nursery

We have places available for children aged 3 and 4 and a very limited number of places available for 2 year olds.

Parents need to express an interest in a nursery place directly to the school office; in the first instance we will need to know:

  • Child's Name and Address
  • Child's Date of Birth
  • How many hours you would like your child to attend our nursery
  • What funding you have in place

New starters to the nursery can join at the beginning of each new term - usually September, January or April.

Once confirmed, new starters and their parents will be invited to come for a short stay and play session so that your child can see our nursery and meet our staff.

The oversubscription criteria and the catchment area are the same as for the school. However, entitlement to free provision (15 or 30 hours per week) is subject to Oxfordshire County Council’s guidelines.

If there is availability, parents will also be able to purchase additional hours to their free entitlement.
